VIETNAM ORGANIC AGRICULTURE ASSOCIATION (VOAA)
The Organic Agriculture Association is a non-governmental organization that aims to promote the development of Vietnam Organic Agriculture and contributes to the world organic agriculture movement.
On May 22, 2012 at the Farmers’ Association Training School, Mai Dich, Cau Giay, Hanoi, the first congress of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOA) took place with the participation of The majority of 158 delegates are scientists, representatives of organizations, businesses, consumers and organic farmer groups. In particular, there was the participation of Mr. Zhou Zejiang, representative of International Union of Organic Movements (IFOAM). Mr. Koen den Braber, Advisor of Organic Agriculture Project, representative of ADDA gave a speech and shared at the meeting about ADDA’s efforts in promoting the establishment of the Association.

The congress also elected the Executive Committee for the 2012-2017 term, including 19 members. Dong Chi Ha Phuc Mich was elected to the position of Chairman of the Association.
Organic agriculture is still relatively new in Vietnam, with initial developments acknowledging the important contributions made by NGOs including ADDA to the Organic Agriculture Development Project. Hopefully, the establishment of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association will create an important driving force to promote the development of organic agriculture.
The second Congress organized in 2018 and voted 45 members of the Executive Board, the president is Dr. Ha Phuc Mich.
VOAA has been accredited as an official member of IFOAM International in 2012. VOAA became a member of “Asian Local Government for Organic Agriculture – ALGOA” and “Asia International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM Asia)” in 2016.
